My mom wanted a sculpture of Raven, our dog, for mother’s day. This is in the wake of a painting of Raven for christmas hah. She loves our dog. And our dog is basically the best dog ever. She’s a rescue dog, we basically never had to train her. She’s so smart she just picked stuff up.
She came crate trained (Though it wasn’t long until mom felt bad and let her start sleeping with them) and she knew sit, stay, lay down, shake. She picked up “don’t look at me” and “look at me” which makes everyone laugh. She also got “go look” where she check something out that you point at, go get it, who’s here, and all sorts of other stuff. And offleash commands came pretty naturally to her, she runs out to “look” at the stuff you point at, she will recall, and she will “go get mom” “go get daddy” “go get ashley” and run to those people. Mostly just people in our family, but sometimes she gets it if you point at someone else and say go get them.
And she never runs off. We can leave the door wide open and she just looks at it and waits to be told to go out. She also waits to be allowed downstairs and into people’s rooms. She’s just amazingly good.
So yeah, enough about my dog, enjoy the little sculpture.

I will make the case that River is only that badass woman later because of her love sickness in the beginning. When she was young she was still under the influence of the silence, impressionable, and very much crazy. She loved the doctor, first as a girl yearning for reciprocal affection, but then as a woman, self-sufficient and with all her heart. That love was not easy, the backwards relationship tore her apart, but made her stronger too. It was this lovesick relationship that made her the strong, independent woman she is at the end of her timeline.
I will now stop ranting and return to my River Song shrine quietly. Forgive the intrusion.
